I had the Amala, gbegiri and ewedu with assorted. I must say I was not impressed at all. The Amala tasted like it was a day old or something and the soup was definitely not fresh or tasty. However the jollof was very delicious. The wait period was also too long, considering I called about 20mins before my arrival, sii ok nice I was driving down from cypress area, I had to wait for another 20mins to receive my order.
My friends and I found this spot online when we had a girls' trip. We decided to visit the place. We ordered sea food fish with rice, fried yam with sauce, and the suya. The food tastes so good, and the customer service too was on point.
This was my first time going to this restaurant. I found it on Google and I drove about 40 minutes because I was really craving for pepper soup today . I ordered pepper soup catfish, designer stew with white rice and jollof rice. Each of these plates were $28 each plus tax. I ended up waiting for my food for about an hour. The staff were nice but food took forever to come out.The food was hot though so I was ok when I left knowing that atleast I got fresh food after all that waiting. When I got home my food was still pretty hot so that was good. My jollof rice was good.my niece really enjoyed it. My designer stew wasn't seasoned or spicy enough and was mainly oily. Didnt get that designer stew taste i was excited for. The catfish pepper soup was really disappointing as this was my main reason for going there. In my soup was a fish head and a tail . Mind you, this was $28. The fish head had no meat in it.just a split head with no meat. The soup tasted really bitter and am not sure why . maybe they make their pepper soup with bitterleaf.. I know some people cook theirs that way but i didnt like it at all.I ended up throwing the soup down the sink.the only thing I can say we enjoyed was the jollof rice. If I go there again its all I will be ordering
Place was clean but empty. My friend's food not remarkable. Mine sub-par, having 75% skin, and the rest low quality though meat. Waiter rushed the payment, handed me the receipt, and walked off while I was still standing. I typically tip when I dine.
I visited Houston with friends and could not have enough of the food here. Everything tasted great.
I heard about this place from a friend especially about the signature amala + gbegiri and ewedu meal. I went to the sugarland location. The location is in a good safe area. The food was excellent. I had the Amala/gbegiri/ewedu with assorted meat. Very tasty....the amala was on point. The restaurant is clean. Service is good. I got my meal within 15 minutes and it was hot and tasty. I spoke to the owner/manager...a lady. She is very polite as well and receptive to feedback. This is a good spot folks. Tasty Nigerian food in a clean atmosphere. I'll surely be back
This location doesn’t know how to stick to schedule. They have 12pm listed on their door. I left my home at 11:40 to get here on time and they weren’t open! When i called the cell number on the door the lady I’m assuming is the manager tells me the staff is running late and should get here by 12:30. The time now is 1:10pm and I still haven’t received my order. Mind you there was a guy that met me in the parking lot and has received his meal within 5 mins of the store opening! Not to mention I didn’t get a single apology or sorry for the wait! Us Nigerians have to do better!!!!! We have to value peoples time and provide exceptional customer service. I am highly upset and i dont think I’ll be back!!!!!
Bae wanted amala so we came here. Yummy and not too much salt. Clean (including the restroom). Great service; no attitude. Didn’t take too long for the food to come out. I recommend. Oh, and they cater too.
